We are seeking to uncover and nurture the next generation of Southeast Queensland's singing talent. This is an opportunity for budding singers aged 12 to 18 to showcase their VOICES and be in the running to win some incredible prizes and opportunities!

What you need to know

Submit a video audition. This can be from your Smart Phone at home.
Nominate FOUR contrasting song options for the competition. The Rise Up team will choose one for you to perform live.
Once you have registered online, the Rise Up Team will Send you an Application Pack. Find the registration form at:
Applications close Tuesday July 21st at 6:00PM.

Upload your audition video to Google Drive (other drive formats accepted)
Make sure the privacy is set to "Anyone With the Link Can View"
Click share, and copy the link into your Rise Up application form.
You can submit a Smart Phone recording from your home. It must be performed with music, such as a live instrument or backing track. This must be unedited.
This singing competition is open to all skill levels & vocal styles. We want to make sure you’re best represented on stage. The team are not expecting any sort of professional video production or performance for your audition, we just want to get to know you!

Video Audition: The Rise Up team will review all video auditions and select singers for the live performances. Entry to the competition is not guaranteed on application.
Song Choice: Contestants are to provide 4 contrasting song choices. The Rise Up team will select 3 of these options for you to perform.
Live Performance: All successful singers will go straight to the stage, with a live performance in front of a panel of judges & audience.
Grand Final: Top placing Contestants from previous rounds will battle it out to see who will take home the Grand Prize.

The registration fee is $60. This is to aid in covering costs of administration, sound/lighting engineer and judging fees. This also includes competition entry and a personally written critique from all rounds of the competition.

Tickets to each performance are available to the general public, and will cost $25 for U18s, and $35 for 18+. *transaction fees may apply

You may sing any style, but it must not contain explicit language, and should be appropriate for your age. Most importantly, choose a song that will entertain your audience.

Yes. All performances, aside from the audition video, are performed in front of a live audience.

There is no obligation to sell tickets to the show. However, we strongly encourage all contestants to bring friends and family to watch the performance. The competition is designed for live audience, and it is much more fun to have your personal cheer squad in the audience!
Both the Semi Final and the Grand Final shows are open to the general public.

No. While we love to hear original music, Performers are NOT permitted to sing original works in the competition. This is to ensure fair competition.
Note: If you are not sure what to sing, the Rise Up team are happy to offer guidance and repertoire suggestions.

No. Performers must sing with a backing track.

No. To keep the competition fair and to focus on vocals, live instruments are not permitted. All performances are to backing tracks only.

The backing vocals are NOT permitted in the Rise Up Competition. This is to ensure accurate judging of the live vocals.

The Rise Up Competition is open to singers of all experience levels and vocal styles.

Contestants must be unsigned by a record label.
Previous Rise Up Winners are not permitted to enter. *
Contestants must not be under 12 years of age, or over 18 years of age. **
*Rise Up Runner Up (Second and Third Places) are permitted to re-enter the competition.

You may apply as long as you live in Queensland, Australia.
Non-Residents may not be eligible for prizes.

The Rise Up Team advises song choices remain under 5 minutes long. This is to ensure all contestants receive equal stage/performance time.

While your performance will be scored out of 100 by the judges to aid in their marking process, we find that providing the scores to the contestants is not constructive. Instead, all contestants will receive personal written feedback from each of the judges each round of the competition.

All prizes are subject to availability, and may change at any time. It is the responsibility of the Contestant to collect any allocated prizes within a 3 month period.
