Our signature Performer Development Program offers nine progressive levels of vocal and performance training, tailored to support growth at every stage — from emerging beginners to aspiring professionals.

The Program

The PS Performer Development Program is a structured pathway with nine progressive levels and two streams: an internal performance-only stream and an external stream offering accreditation in musicianship and music theory. Tailored to individual needs, this program enhances vocal technique, stage presence, and artistry, empowering students to build confidence and develop the skills necessary for a successful career in the music industry.

Levels

Level One

Vocal Novice

  • Able to sing simple scales

  • Can follow basic warm-up routines

  • Follows a consistent practice routine

Level Two

Developing Singer

  • Matches pitch independently

  • Understands and applies basic dynamics (loud/soft)

  • Can perform simple songs with correct pitch and rhythm

Level Three

Progressing Singer

  • Demonstrates control over pitch and volume

  • Understands and uses phrasing and expression

  • Practices vowel modification for better tone

Level Four

Emerging Performer

  • Sings with stable breath support

  • Able to sing songs with more complex rhythms

  • Builds adaptability to perform in various settings

Level Five

Skilled Vocalist

  • Proficiency over pitch, volume, and tone

  • Demonstrates control over different vocal registers

  • Understands basic vocal physiology and anatomy

Level Six

Refined Performer

  • Understands complex harmonies

  • Interprets and performs a variety of styles

  • Understands and applies advanced performance techniques

Level Seven

Accomplished Vocalist

  • Proficient in technically demanding repertoire

  • Practices vocal health and stamina techniques

  • Demonstrates consistent and reliable vocal performance

Level Eight

Advanced Performer

  • Capable of handling high-stakes performances (auditions, live shows, etc.)

  • Demonstrates professionalism in maintaining vocal health and managing performance stress

  • Applies advanced stagecraft and performance techniques

Level Nine

Performer Pro

  • Maintains vocal health under stress and frequent performances

  • Understands advanced performance psychology, vocal anatomy, and physiology

  • Executes performances with professional-level proficiency

How to Level Up:

Performers who participate in the development program will need to participate in the end of semester showcases in order to move up through each level.

Student development will be assessed during their showcase performance, alongside the work they have displayed in lessons lessons and workshops throughout the semester.

If they have developed enough, performers will be awarded a medal for their completed level, and move up to the next.
